MBS General Body Meeting: “Secret to Success…Preparing for Seminole Futures” - 9/22/08



Guest Speaker Dominique St.Fleur

Background:
-Started his own company and traded from the stock market
-Started "Collegiate Investment Society"
-St-Fleur is spearheading the Golden Opportunities Mentorship Program, created by the college's Student Leadership Council.
-He earned a 3.951 GPA during his junior FSU tenure and is enrolled in the university's Honors Program.

-St-Fleur interned last summer with Goldman Sachs & Co.'s Global Insurance Group.

-His project, the "Insurance Asset Allocation Model," focused on providing higher yield and more diversification for insurance companies that invest with Goldman Sachs.


Student Tips for Freshman:
1. Avoid being a regular college student
2. Add value to yourself - A) On campus organizations B.) Internship- Real world experience C.) Maintain a high G.P.A
3. Step outside the box and be original

Seminole Future Tips:

1. Resumes gets you the interview- (Make 4-5 copies of your resume on "Resume paper")
2. Dress Business Professional not Casual
3. Have a "30 sec. introduction"
4. Always get a business card and follow-up with an email
5. Make personal Business cards to stand out from other collegiate
